The Fruitport boys golf team had a fun trip over the weekend, traveling north to particulate in a rare two-day high school tournament.
The Trojans competed in the Traverse City Central Tee-Off Tournament at the Crystal Mountain resort. A total of 24 teams participated in the 36-hole event, which was played on Friday and Saturday.
Chase Sullivan led Fruitport with rounds of 83 and 87 for a 170 total, good for 46th place in the individual standings. Ryan Sloan shot a 182, followed by Hayden Winskas (188), Tyler Carlson (191), Macen Benderman (192), Cole Woodward (212) and Noah Packard (213).

The Trojans finished in 19th place with a combined score of 729. Traverse City Central won the team event.
“Our team battled a few bad breaks and tough starts each day, but finished well both rounds,” said Fruitport Coach Aaron Gregory. “Chase Sullivan played well both days and led us in scoring.
“We definitely had a great time spending the two days together as a team. Creating great memories for players to remember through life is a big part of high school athletics, and hopefully this tournament will be one of those memories.” [2]
