Peyton Ruel nailed a bucket with 15 seconds left in the game, giving the Oakridge boys basketball team an exciting 44-43 victory over Montague on Thursday in the final game of the regular season.

The Eagles trailed 15-9 after one quarter and 25-17 at halftime, then pulled head with a 15-5 advantage in the third quarter.

Ruel finished with 15 points for Oakridge, Evan Miller added 12 while Ty Maitland totaled nine points, seven rebounds and three blocks. Maitland played a great second half and had a huge block of a Montague shot as time expired.

Owen Raeth led Montague with 15 points.

Oakridge and Montague finished tied for third place in the West Michigan Conference Lakes Division with 6-6 league records. Oakridge was 10-12 in the regular season while Montague was 12-10.
