The Spring Lake boys basketball team put up a good fight, but ended up falling to Grand Rapids Christian 54-39 on Monday in a Division 2 regional semifinal game at Hudsonville Unity Christian High School.
The Lakers trailed 15-13 after one quarter and 27-18 at halftime. They made a run in the third quarter and cut their deficit to 39-32, but GR Christian led 43-32 headed into the fourth, then pulled away with a 21-7 advantage over the final eight minutes.
Zane Stahl paced Spring Lake with 13 points while Eli Morrison added nine.
Spring Lake finished the season with a 14-9 record and a Division 2 district championship.
