The Muskegon boys basketball team opened its postseason on Wednesday with an easy 72-34 victory over Grand Rapids Union at Coopersville High School.
The Big Reds only led 11-8 after one quarter, then outscored the Red Hawks 11-4 in the second, 20-10 in the third and 30-12 in the fourth.
Jordan Briggs led Muskegon with 20 points, including three triples. James Martin added 18 points and Anthony Sydnor turned in 14.
The Big Reds, now 21-2 on the season, will face Reeths-Puffer on Friday in a Division 1 district championship game at 7 p.m. at Coopersville.
