The Montague boys basketball team held on for dear life on Tuesday and managed to sneak past Manistee 38-36 in a West Michigan Conference clash.

The Wildcats trailed 12-11 after the opening quarter but went on a 12-4 tear during the second quarter to take a 23-16 lead.

Montague led 35-23 heading into the fourth and held on as it only managed to score three fourth quarter points, while the Chippewas had 13.

Isaiah Atchison paced the Wildcats with 11 points and 11 rebounds, while Kellan Francis scored 10.

Montague improves to 12-9 overall and 6-5 in league play while the Chippewas are now 5-16 on the season and 1-10 in conference action.
