The Mason County Central girls basketball team cruised to a 64-42 win over Shelby in a West Michigan Conference game on Thursday night.

The Spartans led 22-7 after the first quarter, 31-13 at halftime and 55-21 after three quarters.

Wren Nelson led Mason County Central with 20 points, while Mallory Miller added 13 points and four assists. Jessica Petersen chipped in with eight points.

The Tigers were paced by Molli Schultz and Biloxi Lee with 18 and 11 points, respectively.

The Spartans are now 16-3 overall on the season and 9-2 in conference play.

FREMONT 30, WHITEHALL 21

Fremont (8-13 overall, 5-6 conference): Mia Clemence 7 points; Jessica Bennett 6 points; Olivia Hansen 4 points, 11 rebounds.

Whitehall (10-10 overall, 3-8 conference): Onnyka Dempsey 6 points, 5 steals; Autumn Ferris 8 rebounds.
