The Mason County Central girls basketball team had a strong offensive night on Monday, defeating Fruitport Calvary Christian 62-49.

The Spartans led 10-5 after one quarter and 27-15 at halftime.

In the third quarter, Mason County Central exploded for 23 points and held a 50-31 lead headed to the final quarter.

Wren Nelson led the Spartans with 18 points and 12 rebounds while Mallory Miller totaled 15 points and three assists. Charlie Banks also had 13 points and four assists.

Fruitport Calvary Christian was led by Nora Pollock with 18 points, 11 rebounds and seven steals while McKena Wilson had 17 points.

Ava Wilson had eight points for the Eagles who drop to 9-11 overall.

Mason County Central is now 17-3 overall on the season.

MONTAGUE 52, SHELBY 21
