Fruitport wrestler Caleb O’Neal didn’t waste any time nailing down his 100th career victory.

O’Neal only needed 17 seconds to pin Wyoming’s Dah Htoo on Wednesday in a 215-pound match, bringing him to the century mark of his wrestling career.

The senior joins teammates Roan Cooper and Nash Cooper, who also collected their 100th victories this season.

“One hundred wins is a pretty rare accomplishment for a high school wrestler,” said Fruitport coach Chad Johnson. “The work Caleb put in this offseason is a testimony to his success.”

O’Neal’s accomplishment was the highlight of Fruitport’s 72-9 victory over Wyoming in a non-conference dual match.

The Trojans easily captured the win with seven pins, coming from O’Neal, Kaiden Bell (285 pounds), Trace Pider (175), Hunter Leonard (165), Kayden Beardsley (157), Nash Cooper (144) and Roan Cooper (126).

Fruitport lost its other match to Hamilton, an O-K Blue conference power, but three Trojans secured victories and went 2-0 on the night – Nash Cooper, Leonard and Pider. Leonard and Pider won both of their matches by pin.

Fruitport is 14-5 in dual matches this season.
