Fruitport sophomore post player Ryan Bosch had a breakout game on Monday, scoring 21 points with seven rebounds and two steals in the Trojans’ 61-34 victory over Fremont.
The win rekindled the Trojans’ recent hot streak. They have now won five of their last six games after their four-game winning streak ended in a loss to Coopersville on Friday.
Fruitport had a narrow 10-7 lead after one quarter, then took control in the second, outscoring the Packers 21-9 to grab a 31-16 halftime advantage.
The Trojans led 44-20 after three quarters then cruised to the win.
[1]Senior Bode Anspach also had a big night for Fruitport, totaling 16 points, four rebounds and three steals. Seven other Trojans also scored points in the game.
Collin Jolman pulled down nine rebounds while Andrew Spyke had eight. Freshman DayDay Williams had four steals and Spyke had three assists.
“Tonight was a good team win from start to finish,” said Fruitport Coach Steve Erny. “We were able to extend our lead in the second and third quarters, turning defense into offense.
“Ryan Bosch had a great game off the bench. He was able to sort of have his way inside and played a solid overall game. Really it was a lot of guys contributing tonight and playing hard.”
The Trojans, now 11-6 overall and 6-4 in the O-K Blue conference, will return to league action with a matchup at Hamilton on Tuesday night.
