The Spring Lake boys basketball team overcame a 17-point halftime deficit, defeating Allendale 67-57 in comeback fashion in overtime on Friday night in an O-K Blue Conference battle.

The Lakers trailed 20-11 after the opening quarter and 38-21 at halftime. Spring Lake went on a 16-11 third quarter run to cut its deficit to 49-37 going into the final stanza.

Spring Lake maintained its momentum in the fourth, forcing overtime by closing out regulation on a 18-6 tear.

The Lakers dominated the overtime period, outscoring Allendale 12-2 to earn the win.

Zach Schlepp forced overtime by nailing the game-tying three-pointer with five seconds left in regulation.

Schlepp was one of three players to lead the Lakers with 20 points scored along with Zane Stahl and Eli Morrison.

Spring Lake is now 12-8 on the season and 9-5 in O-K Blue Conference play.
