The Mona Shores girls basketball team picked up its third straight win Tuesday night in a non-conference game against Shelby. The Sailors took control early and coasted to a 61-26 win over the Tigers.

Mona Shores led 12-4 after the first quarter, 24-8 at halftime and 49-21 at the end of three quarters.

Khaleeya Cook and Ali Phillips had strong days from beyond the arc, both knocking down four three-pointers for the Sailors. Cook finished with 19 points and Phillips scored 18. Lauren Hylland added seven for Mona Shores.

Molli Schultz led Shelby with 14 points.

Mona Shores improves to 5-3 overall this season and will open conference play later this week. Shelby is now 4-4 overall, including 3-1 in the WEst Michigan Conference Rivers division.
