Fruitport girls basketball team loses a low-scoring, non-conference matchup with Montague, 25-17

The Fruitport girls basketball team hung in for three quarters on Monday, then fell to Montague 25-17 in a low-scoring non-conference matchup.

The Trojans trialed 5-2 after one quarter, 15-7 at halftime and 19-13 at the end of the third quarter. They had an opportunity to close the gap in the final quarter but were outscored 6-4.

Auebre Johnson led all scorers in the defensive battle with seven points while Rhiannon Raleigh had six points and six rebounds.

Jorja Blackmer and Mikayla Belasco each snagged seven rebounds for Fruitport.

The Trojans, now 4-7 overall and 1-3 in the O-K Blue, will continue conference play on Tuesday with a game in Hamilton. [1]
