The Muskegon Risers indoor team kicked off its 2022-23 season in disappointing fashion on Saturday, falling 8-2 to the Iowa Demon Hawks on the road.
Iowa took control in the first half, outscoring the Risers 3-1 in the first quarter and 4-1 in the second. The Demon Hawks scored the only goal of the third quarter and there were no goals in the fourth.
The Risers had trouble mustering much offense. They were outshot by the Demon Hawks 21-7, including 19-6 in the first half.
Brandon Edwards and Salvador Nunez scored the two goals for Muskegon.
