The Muskegon Risers obviously angered the Iowa Demon Hawks on Dec. 16 when they rallied from a four-goal deficit and beat the Demon Hawks 8-7 in their season home opener.

The evidence came on Thursday when the Risers traveled to Cedar Rapids, Iowa and were handed a painful 17-4 loss at the hands of the vengeful Demon Hawks.

Iowa grabbed a 2-0 edge after one quarter and kept building on it, leading 6-2 at halftime and 11-2 after three quarters. The home team saved its biggest offensive explosion for the end, scoring six goals in the fourth quarter to complete the romp.

The Risers collected goals from Brandon Dinsmore, Freddy Romero, Michael Vollmer and Ryan Wagenmaker.

The Risers, now 1-3 on the season, are in third place in the Major Arena Soccer League 2 North Division standings. The Demon Hawks, 3-1, are in first place, seven points ahead of Muskegon.

The Risers will remain in Cedar Rapids and play the Iowa Raptors on Friday night. Their next home games are slated for Jan. 6-7 against the Rochester Lancers.
