The Hart boys basketball team jumped out to an early lead and held on to beat Oakridge 80-63 on Monday.
The Pirates scored the first 11 points of the game and led 24-13 after one quarter. The margins were tight the rest of the way, with Hart outscoring Oakridge 22-20 in the second quarter and 19-15 in the third. The teams deadlocked 15-15 in the fourth quarter.
Parker Hovey led Hart with 21 points, Blake Weirich added 17 points and 10 rebounds, Diego Escamilla had 16 points (including four triples) and Wyatt Dean totaled 12.
Sophomore Peyton Ruel had 28 points for Oakridge.
The Pirates, now 3-0 on the season, will host Big Rapids on Thursday.
