The Muskegon Catholic volleyball team moves on to the Division 4 district finals after beating host Mason County Eastern on Wednesday night in three straight sets.

The Crusaders won by scores of 25-20, 25-16 and 25-23 to improve to 15-18 overall on the season.

Claire LaVigne filled the stat sheet with four aces, 12 kills, 13 assists and 12 digs. Natalie Rich added six aces and Claire Carlton chipped in with eight kills.

Aubrey Shephard also had a strong outing defensively with 11 digs for MCC.

The Crusaders will play Fruitport Calvary Christian on Friday for a shot at a district title.

Kent City wins 34th match of the season, defeats Morley-Stanwood in district semifinals

The Eagles advanced to the Division 3 district finals after defeating Morley-Stanwood on Wednesday in five sets.

Kent City won by scores of 25-20, 25-13, 22-25, 18-25 and 15-9 to improve to 34-6-4 overall on the season.

Lexie Bowers had 17 kills and 27 digs for the Eagles, while Maddie Bowers added three aces, 16 kills, and 30 digs. Jacee Hoffman chipped in with three aces and 44 assists.

Kent City will face White Cloud on Thursday in the district finals.

Grand Haven cruises past Holland in three straight sets to advance in district tournament

The Bucs were led by Izzy Whittaker with 10 kills, while Taylor Smaka added 18 digs and four aces. Sara Weber chipped in with 17 assists.

Grand Haven is now 28-22 on the season and will face Zeeland West on Friday for a shot at another district title.

Ludington drops last three sets of a five-set district match, falls to Cadillac

The Ludington volleyball team started their contest strong before falling to Cadillac in a five-set match on Wednesday in the district semifinals.

The Orioles won the first two sets by scores of 25-12 and 25-17 before losing the final three sets by scores of 15-25, 25-27 and 13-15.

Maddy Vaara paced Ludington with 31 kills, 21 digs and six blocks, while Keelyn Laird added 13 kills and 22 digs. Jordyn Anderson chipped in with 44 assists and five blocks.

The Orioles were led defensively by Karlie Mesyar with 25 digs.

Ludington had a 32-9-2 record overall.

Holton season comes to an end with a four-set loss to Hesperia in district semifinals

The Holton volleyball season came to an end on Wednesday night in a four-set match against Hesperia in the Division 3 district semifinals.

The Panthers won by service scores of 22-25, 25-12, 25-20 and 25-21 to advance to the district finals. They will play the winner of Shelby and Hart on Thursday night.

The Red Devils were led by Abbie Fowler with six kills, three aces, 15 assists and 35 digs, while Ryann Robbins added nine kills, two aces and four blocks. Katie Petersen chipped in with 29 digs.

Ravenna falls to White Cloud in a five-set Division 3 district semifinal contest

The Bulldogs season came to an end on Wednesday night in district semifinal action against White Cloud.

Ravenna lost by service scores of 18-25, 28-26, 17-25, 25-19 and 8-15.

Ellerie Moy led the Bulldogs with 11 kills, while Olivia Porter added 10. Lydia Morey paced the defense with 25 digs and Emma Herremans had 22.
