The Western Michigan Christian volleyball team advanced to the Division 3 district semifinals with a 3-0 win over host Fennville on Tuesday.
The set scores were 25-13, 25-15, 25-13.
Abby Leffring paced the Warriors with 13 kills while Ashley Folkema and Nora Anderson added five and three kills, respectively.
Senior Kendal Young drove the offense with 24 assists. Defensively, Leffring and Folkema each had three blocks.
WMC now advances to play North Muskegon on Thursday at 7 p.m. in the district semifinals.
[1]Montague beats Oakridge in Division 2
The Wildcats eliminated the Eagles 25-22, 25-20, 20-14 in the first round of districts at Fruitport.
Anastasia Trevino led Montague with 10 kills. Jaelyn Sundberg had 22 assists.
Defensive leaders were Alyssa Wynn with 20 digs and Sundberg, Jacy Arrigotti and Jordan Netcott with 10 apiece.
Montague will face Orchard View on Thursday at 5 p.m. in the semifinal round.
Muskegon Catholic downs Pentwater, heads to D4 semifinals
The Crusaders beat Pentwater 3-0 on Monday in the first round of the Division 4 district tournament at Mason County Eastern.
The set scores were 25-18, 25-7, 25-10.
Claire Carlton and Natalie Rich each had six kills for the Crusaders while Claire LaVigne added four. Elana LaGuire served nine aces and LaVigne set things up with 19 assists.
Defensively, LaVigne and LaGuire each had five digs while Catherine Cone added four.
MCC will now play Mason County Eastern on Wednesday at 7 p.m. in the semifinal round.
