The Muskegon Catholic Central football team’s season ended up the road on Friday night with a 36-7 loss to Reed City in a Division 6 district championship game.

The game was close until the fourth quarter, when Reed City pulled away with three touchdowns.

MCC was burned by big plays, with Reed City scoring on runs of 21, 30, 48 and 70 yards at different points in the game.

The Coyotes opened the scoring in the second quarter with a touchdown and led 6-0 at halftime.

The Crusaders took a 7-6 lead in the third quarter on a 13-yard touchdown run by Bryan Convertini and an extra point, but that didn’t hold up for long.

Reed City scored a rushing touchdown later in the third quarter to retake the lead, then added three more in the fourth to nail down the victory.

Convertini led the MCC rushing attack with 64 yards on 15 carries. Chase Willer caught three passes for 36 yards.

Sam Kartes paced the Crusader defense with 10 tackles while Convertini added six and David Hill had five.

Muskegon Catholic finished the season with an 8-3 record.
