Pulaski found the net five times and assisted on three other goals as the Sailors beat Muskegon 9-0 in the tournament’s opening round. The game was called at halftime.

In addition to Pulaski’s big night, Vincenzo Padilla scored twice for Mona Shores, while Antonio Lewis and Nathan McNarland both had one goal. Lewis and Abe Freye had two assists each and Dan VanderPloeg added an assist.

Comeback falls short for Reeths-Puffer

Reeths-Puffer dropped its opening game of the O-K Green conference tournament, falling just short of a big comeback. The Rockets fell to Zeeland East 4-3, trailing at one point 4-0.

The Chix scored three goals in the first half and added another early in the second to lead 4-0 with 35 minutes left.

Conner Mammen scored the first Reeths-Puffer goal on an assist from Liam Smith with 30 minutes to play to make it 4-1. Smith then converted a penalty kick with 25 minutes to play, his 20th goal of the season, to pull R-P within 4-2.

With 12 minutes left, Mammen scored again, sending one in off the crossbar to make it 4-3. The Rockets were unable to find the equalizer in the closing minutes.

Both teams had 14 shots on goal for the game. Gage Hopkins made 10 saves in the net for the Rockets.

Reeths-Puffer is now 6-8-2 on the season and 2-5-1 in the O-K Green.
