The Spring Lake football season came to a close on Friday night with a 31-23 road loss to Coopersville.
The Lakers finish the season with an overall record of 3-6 including a 2-5 record in O-K Blue Conference play.
Spring Lake trailed 7-0 after one quarter after Coopersville opened the game with a 71-yard touchdown pass on the second play.
Alex Lee dashed to the end zone on a 32-yard run to tie the game at 7-7 with 8:22 remaining in the second quarter.
However, the Lakers found themselves trailing 14-10 at halftime.
After three quarters of play, the Lakers deficit increased to 21-10.
Reid Grimmer used a quarterback sneak to score from six-yards out to cut the Laker deficit to 21-16 with 8:58 remaining.
After a Coopersville touchdown, Grimmer punched in a one-yard touchown to make the score 31-23 with just 1:26 left.
Spring Lake forced a three-and-out to get the ball back but were unable to score ultimately falling 31-23.
