The Ravenna football team avenged its regular season loss to North Muskegon by defeating the Norse 10-7 in the Division 7 pre-district round Friday.

The Bulldogs will face the winner of Ithaca and Lake City next weekend in the district finals.

Ravenna opened the scoring with a 30-yard touchdown run by Hunter Hogan, giving the Bulldogs a 7-0 lead. North Muskegon tied the game 7-7 with a 12-yard touchdown run from Ben Meyers.

The Bulldogs closed out the scoring late in the first half off the leg of Hogan, who nailed a 23-yard field goal.

Hogan paced the Bulldogs with 123 yards rushing on 29 carries. He also threw for 90 yards on 6-for-12 passing. Chase Thomas caught three passes for 48 yards, while Drew Mabrito added two receptions for 29 yards.

Carter Schullo led the Bulldogs defensively with eight tackles, while Hogan and Derek Finley each had 7.5 apiece.

The Norse were paced by James Young, who threw for 101 yards on 9-for-18 passing, while Meyers had 83 rushing yards on 17 carries. Carsen Moat and Talan Thompson each caught two passes for 44 and 33 yards, respectively.

North Muskegon was led defensively by Drew Bartos with 8.5 tackles, while Sam Gallo added six.
