North Muskegon wins West Michigan Conference Rivers Division with perfect 6-0 divisional record

The North Muskegon football team won the West Michigan Conference Rivers Division with a 42-6 victory over Shelby on Friday.
The Norse completed a perfect 6-0 divisional record while also going 8-1 overall to take home their first conference championship since 1986.
James Young took just 52 seconds to find TJ Byard for a 25-yard touchdown pass on Friday night to give North Muskegon a 7-0 lead.
Ben Meyers scored on a seven-yard run and Young found Drew Bartos for a 30-yard touchdown pass to give the Norse a 21-0 lead after one quarter.
In the second quarter, Meyers punched in a six-yard run and Young scored on a one-yard run to make the halftime score 35-0 in favor of North Muskegon.
Young threw a 16-yard touchdown pass to Landon Christanson in the third quarter to extend the lead to 42-0.
Isaiah Garica of Shelby found Bishop Lee for a 13-yard touchdown pass in the fourth quarter for the lone Shelby score.
Young totaled 197 passing yards and three touchdowns on 12-of-15 passing while Tristan Thomas totaled 84 yards on 10 carries.
Meyers finished with 61 yards and two touchdowns on five carries while Carsen Moat had 50 yards receiving on three catches.
AJ Larkin led the Norse with five tackles on the night.
