The Montague football team fell to 3-5 overall on the season with a 50-20 road loss to Manistee on Friday night.
After trailing 8-0, Montague got on the board with 8:22 left in the first when Chase Gowell found Owen Petersen for a 36-yard touchdown pass, cutting the deficit to 8-6.
The Wildcats ultimately trailed 14-6 after one quarter.
Just 88 seconds into the second quarter, Adam Baird Jr. broke loose for a 14-yard touchdown run, cutting the Montague deficit to 14-12.
Manistee closed the first half with 14 unanswered points to take a 28-12 lead into halftime.
After a Manistee touchdown made the score 36-12, Austin Cook scored on a one-yard touchdown run to make the score 36-20, which remained the score after three quarters.
Manistee outscored Montague 14-0 in the final quarter to ultimately make the final score 50-20.
Montague will close out the regular season next week by hosting rival Oakridge.
