The Grand Haven football team fell to 1-7 on the season with a 53-29 loss to Grandville on Friday night.

After falling behind 8-0, Lance Poole got the Bucs on the board with a three-yard touchdown run to cut the deficit to 8-7.

Grand Haven ultimately trailed 14-7 at the end of the first quarter.

In the second quarter, Poole scored on a one-yard touchdown run to tie the game at 14-14 before Grandville took a 22-14 lead into halftime.

Xzavier Rodriguez opened the third quarter scoring with a one-yard touchdown run to cut the Grand Haven deficit to 22-21.

Grandville ended the third quarter on a 16-0 run to take a 38-21 lead into the final quarter.

After falling behind 46-21, Rodriguez found William Korenstra for a 70-yard touchdown pass to cut the deficit to 46-29.

Grandville finished the game with a final touchdown to make the final score 53-29.

Rodriquez finished 16-of-22 passing for 252 yards and one touchdown while Poole totaled 51 yards and two touchdowns on 13 carries.

Poole also totaled 108 yards receiving on five catches while Korenstra totaled 95 yards and one touchdown on four catches.

Grand Haven will finish the season next week at Hudsonville.
