Sean Gieske scored three goals in the first half, leading the Fruitport soccer team to a convincing 7-0 victory over Coopersville on Wednesday in O-K Blue conference action.

The Trojans added three more goals in the first five minutes of the second half, then scored one more. Jackson Rebone, Braylon Marshall, Bode Anspach, and Taylen Acocks all tallied for Fruitport.

Gieske, Rebone, Anshpach, Jorge Burgos-Yack, Jackson Smith-Upson and Isaac Vandermolen all had assists for the Trojans.

Justin Laus made three saves in goal to collect the shutout.

Fruitport is now 4-3 overall and 1-1 on conference play.

Fremont holds off Orchard View in conference action

The Fremont soccer team jumped out to a big lead then held on to beat Orchard View 3-2 on Wednesday in a West Michigan Conference game.

The Packers took a 3-0 lead at halftime on a pair of goals by Killiam Prewitt and one from Deagan Klimek.

Orchard View got on the board with two minutes left in the first half on a goal by Corbin Russell, and the score was 3-1 at the break.

Russell scored again for the Cardinals in the second half, but OV couldn’t find the equalizer.

Fremont had a 17-6 advantage in shots on goal. Goalie Ben Mellema made four saves for the Packers while OV goalie Brandon todd stopped 14 shots.

The Packers are now 3-4-1 overall and 1-1 in conference play. Orchard View is 1-7 and 0-3.

Wendt, Holmes lead Ludington to victory

Parker Wendt and Spencer Holmes each scored three goals to lead Ludington to an 8-0 win over Montague in West Michigan Conference matchup.

Ryan Millspaugh added two goals for the Orioles. Steven Stidham had three assists while Wendt, Holmes, Nate Wagner, Ryan Kandalec and Ultan Ryan each had one.

Ludington is now 8-1-1 overall and 3-1 in conference play.
