Spring Lake came out on top in a back-and-forth rivalry match against Fruitport Tuesday night. The Lakers came back from down two sets to one to claim an O-K Blue conference win.

Spring Lake won the first set 25-19 before Fruitport took the next two sets 25-17 and 25-20. The Lakers then won the fourth set 25-20 and the final set 15-13. 

Spring Lake was led on offense by Kalli Lewkowski with 20 kills. Brooke Bolthouse added 11 kills while Kara Constantine added 11 assists.

Bolthouse and Brooklyn Beeler led the Lakers on defense with 29 digs. Rylee Sabo had 26 digs and Lewkowski added 16.

Sadie Haase led Fruitport with 21 kills. Gracelynn Olson added 12 kills to go with 27 assists and 15 digs. Kayla Kolberg led the Trojans with 33 digs, while Raegan Dykstra had 17.

Spring Lake moves to 17-7-3 and 1-3 in conference play.

Shores falls to Zeeland West in five

The Mona Shores volleyball team suffered a tough loss Tuesday night, falling in five sets against Zeeland West.

Despite winning the first two sets 25-17 and 25-19, the Sailors couldn’t hold on. Zeeland West took the final three sets by scores of 25-20, 25-20 and 15-13 to sntach the win.

Ava Dunn led the Sailors with 18 kills and added three blocks. Kyann Hellmann had 44 assists, while Grace Allen had 12 kills. Ali Trautner added five kills. 

Izzy Sturtevant had 18 digs on the defensive side and Mallory Hogston added eight digs. 

Mona Shores is now 15-5 on the season, including 3-1 in the O-K Green conference. 

Reeths-Puffer drops four-set match against Zeeland East

The Rockets stalled after taking the first set of an O-K Green match against Zeeland East Tuesday. After winning 25-23 in the opening set, Reeths-Puffer lost by scores of 25-13, 25-11 and 25-19 to drop the match.

Madisyn Dykema led the Rockets with nine kills and an ace. Sophia Hekkema added six kills and two aces while Natalie Kunnen had seven kills and an ace. Lauren Nelson had eight digs, while Megan Barmes had seven.

The Rockets are now 9-9 on the season.

Eagles stay unbeaten in conference play 

Kent City moved to 4-0 in conference play with a win over Tri-County Tuesday night. The Eagles won by scores of 25-9, 25-13 and 25-13. 

Kent City was led on offense by Jacee Hoffman with 19 assists and two aces. Maddie Geers added nine kills and two aces while Lexie Bowers added eight kills. Geers also had 16 digs.

Kent City is now 12-4-1 on the season.

Hart rallies past Mason County Central 

The Pirates started slow, dropping the first two sets, before coming back for a win against the Spartans. Mason County Central took the first two sets 25-21 and 25-22. Hart then rallied to win 25-15, 25-11 and 15-11 in the final three sets. 

Addi Hovey led the Pirates with 20 kills, while Mya Chickering had 10 kills and three aces. Gabby Schmieding and MaKayla Rockwell both had 10 assists, while Mariana VanAgtmael and Grace Gamble had eight aces each.

VanAgtmael had 11 digs to lead the Pirates, while Laura Bitely had five and Rockwell had four. 

The Pirates improve to 11-2-3 overall and 1-1 in the conference. 

North Muskegon sweeps Holton

The Norse picked up a conference win over Holton in straight sets Tuesday night. North Muskegon won by scores of 25-14, 25-12 and 25-22. 

Natalie Pannucci and Joslynne Bogner led the way with eight kills each. Sami Baker had 22 assists and nine digs. Allie Jenson also had nine digs, while Pannucci had eight.

Orchard View falls to Ludington

The Orioles swept a West Michigan Conference Lakes Division match Tuesday night. Ludington won by scores of 25-6, 25-3 and 25-9. 

Orchard View was led on offense by Alexis Anderson and Hikari Katsuzawa with five kills a piece.
