North Muskegon defeated Mason County Central in West Michigan Conference volleyball action Tuesday night. The Norse knocked off the Spartans in four sets with scores of 25-15, 20-25, 25-6 and 25-20.

Natalie Pannucci led the Norse attack with 11 kills and eight aces. Fia Lindsay and Allie Jensen both put up 10 kills, with Jensen leading the team in aces with nine. Sami Baker led the Norsemen in assists with 29.

On defense, Jolie Fellows led the Norsemen with 20 digs on the night. Pannucci and Jensen also found success on defense, posting 12 and 11 digs, respectively.

Tori Dunblazier had nine kills and two aces for MCC, while Charlie Banks added 12 digs and five kills. Alayna Rafter had 10 digs and Ashlyn McKay led the way with seven blocks. 

North Muskegon improves to 10-6-3 overall and 3-0 in the WMC Rivers division. 

Vikings sweep Manistee

Whitehall defeated Manistee in West Michigan Conference action on Tuesday night, winning in three sets with scores of 25-11, 25-12 and 25-12.

Arianna Black led the offense with 10 aces and eight kills. Bella Fogus led the team in kills with 11, and Sydney Shepherd posted 39 assists to round out the Vikings’ attack.

On the defensive side of the net, Chase Baker led the way with 14 digs, followed by Black who had nine of her own.

Whitehall improves to 10-13-5 overall, and 2-1 in conference play.

Sailors fall short against Zeeland East

The Mona Shores volleyball team fell to Zeeland East in O-K Green play Tuesday night. The Sailors fell in straight sets, losing by scores of 25-22, 25-13 and 26-24. 

Grace Allen led the team with nine kills, while Ava Dunn had eight. Kyann Hellman had a team-high 22 assists. 

Hellman also led the team with eight digs, while Dunn added four blocks. 

The Mona Shores volleyball team fell to Zeeland East in OK-Green conference play Tuesday night, falling in three sets with scores of 22-25, 13-25 and 24-26.

Mona Shores falls to 15-6 on the season and 3-2 in the O-K Green, and will look to bounce back at Reeths-Puffer on Thursday.

Muskegon Catholic picks up sweep

The Muskegon Catholic Central volleyball team defeated Godfrey-Lee in straight sets Tuesday night. MCC won by scores of 25-11, 25-13 and 25-21. 

Leading the Crusaders on offense was Natalie Rich, who led the team in with eight aces and seven kills. Claire LaVigne contributed 12 assists, four aces and four kills, while Daeja Hill added six kills.

On defense, LaVigne also added a team-high nine digs, while Elana LaGuire and Ella Muskovin added six and three, respectively.

Muskegon Catholic Central improves to 6-9 overall, and 2-1 in conference.

Kent City sweeps Reed City

Kent City’s volleyball team picked up another win Tuesday night, sweeping Reed City in three sets. The Eagles won by scores of 25-11, 25-13 and 25-17.

Kent City is now 19-4-2 on the season, including a perfect 6-0 in conference play. 

Maddie Geers led the team with nine kills. Lexie Bowers added five kills and chipped in 12 digs as well.

Jacee Hoffman had 15 assists on the night, while Susan-Joy Rau had four aces. Kaden Perkins had 12 digs and Geers added three blocks.  

Oakridge sweeps Ravenna

Oakridge picked up its first conference win of the season Tuesday, beating Ravenna in three sets. The Eagles won by scores of 25-20, 25-18 and 25-16. 

The Eagles offense was led by Gracie Willea, who put up 23 assists on the outing. Madison Babinec and Kaelinn Jozsa both had six kills to round out the Oakridge attack.

On the defensive side of the net, the Eagles put up a total 27 digs, led by Mallori Whipple, Kylee Willea, and Ahria Doornbos.

The Eagles improve to 10-11-1, including 1-2 in conference play.

Rockets fall in O-K Green match

Reeths-Puffer lost to Zeeland West in straight sets Tuesday night in O-K Green action. The Rockets fell by scores of 25-12, 25-19 and 25-13.

Madisyn Dykema led the team with 11 kills and added three digs. Lauren Nelson and Megan Barmes shared the team high in digs with six. Sophia Hekkema added five kills, while Nelson and Natalie Kunnen had two each. 

Reeths-Puffer is now 9-10-2 overall this season.

Trojans fall to West Catholic in five sets

Fruitport lost a back-and-forth O-K Blue conference match against Grand Rapids West Catholic Tuesday night, falling in five sets.

The Trojans took the first set 25-22, lost the second set 25-13 and took the third set 25-23. West Catholic took the final two sets by scores of 25-13 and 15-5. 

Sadie Haase led the team with 16 kills, while Gracelynn Olson put up seven kills and a team-high 20 assists to round out the Fruitport attack.

On defense, Raegan Dykstra had a team-leading 18 digs, while Kayla Kohlberg had 14 digs.
