Despite falling behind in a fifth and final set, the Fruitport volleyball team rallied for an exciting win over Unity Chirstian Tuesday night. 

The Trojans fell behind 7-0 in the fifth set before coming back for a 15-13 win to decide the match. Fruitport won by set scores of 26-24, 21-25, 25-27, 25-23 and 15-13. 

Sadie Haase led the Trojans with 11 kills and 54 assists. Also adding to the Trojans’ effort was Raegan Dysktra, who had seven kills and 29 assists.

On defense, Kayla Kohlberg led the Trojans with 35 digs. Tara Sweet had 23 digs and Lauren Riedel added 15.

Fruitport improves to 9-11 on the season and 1-1 in the OK Blue.

Mona Shores picks up conference win

The Sailor volleyball team defeated Wyoming in OK Green action Tuesday night. Mona Shores swept the Wolves by scores of 25-8, 25-10 and 25-13.

Jersey VanderWall led the Sailors with seven kills. Ava Dunn had six kills and Mallory Hogston had three kills and a team-high five cases. Kyann Hellmann led the team in assists with 24.

On the defensive side of the net, Dunn led the team with three digs. VanderWall had two blocks.

Mona Shores improves to 14-4 on the season and 2-0 in the OK Green. 

Reeths-Puffer sweeps Union

The Rockets picked up a straight-sets victory over Grand Rapids Union in OK Green action Tuesday. Reeths-Puffer won by set scores of 25-9, 25-18 and 25-9.

Leading the Rockets’ attack were Madisyn Dykema and Sophia Hekkema, who posted 10 and eight kills, respectively. Sophia Corradin and Hekkema added two aces each.

Corradin led the team with five digs, Hekkema had three and Dykema chipped in two. 

Reeths-Puffer improves to 6-6-2 overall.

North Muskegon breezes past Hart

The North Muskegon volleyball team defeated Hart Tuesday night, sweeping the Pirates in West Michigan Conference action. The Norse won by scores of 25-17, 25-8 and 25-18.

Leading the offensive side of the net for the Norsemen was Fia Lindsay who put up a total 11 kills on the night, followed by Allie Jensen and Natalie Pannucci who posted 10 and seven, respectively. Sami Baker had team-highs with four aces and 29 assist and 10 digs

Jolie Fellows added nine digs and Jaley Schultz had six. Jensen led the team in blocks with a pair.

North Muskegon improves to 8-6-3 overall and a perfect 2-0 in conference.

Spring Lake falls to 0-2 in conference play

The Lakers dropped an OK Blue match against Allendale Tuesday night, falling by scores of 25-21, 25-13 and 25-20.

Kalli Lewkowski led the Lakers with 12 kills. Kara Constantine and Rylee Sabo both had seven assists.

Brook Bolthouse totaled 15 digs to lead Spring Lake, while Ella Andree chipped in 10. Emma Nicles posted a team-high three blocks for the Lakers.

Spring Lake falls to 0-2 in conference play and is now 12-5-2 overall this season.

Kent City overcomes early deficit to top Morley Stanwood

After dropping the first two sets, Kent City stormed back to beat Morley Stanwood in CSAA volleyball action. The Eagles dropped the first two sets 25-16 and 25-23 before winning by scores of 25-22, 25-18 and 17-15.

Madelyn Geers led the team with 11 kills and added 25 digs and three aces. Lexie Bowers had 10 kills to go with a team-high 32 digs. Jacee Hoffman totaled 25 assists.

Susan Rau led the team with seven aces and chipped in four kills. Kaden Perkins had 23 digs on the day.

Kent City is now 11-4-1 overall and 3-0 in conference play after the comeback win.

Montague sweeps Orchard View

Montague came away with a quick three-set victory over Orchard View in West Michigan Conference action Tuesday night. The Wildcats won by scores of 25-13, 25-6 and 25-9.

Anastasia Trevino led the team with seven kills, while Britta Johnson had five. Jaelyn Sundberg had 26 assists and chipped in five digs.

Alissa Wynn had a team-high seven aces, while Jordan Netcott had six aces to go with eight digs. Maizie Collins led the Wildcats in digs with 11.
