Thursday volleyball roundup: Mona Shores volleyball team makes easy work of GR Union in three straight sets

The Sailors were able to let their players play multiple positions in a three-set sweep over GR Union on Thursday night.

Mona Shores won by serve scores of 25-6, 25-9 and 25-20.

The Sailors were led on offense by Grace Allen with 10 kills while Ava Dunn chipped in with six kills and three aces. Kyann Hellmann added 29 assists, five digs and five aces.

Ali Trautner contributed with five kills and Mallory Hogston had three aces.

The Sailors are now 15-4 overall on the season and 3-0 in conference play. They will face Zeeland West on Tuesday.

RP volleyball squad cruises to three-set victory over Wyoming in a league contest

It was a great night for the Reeths-Puffer volleyball team with a three-set win over Wyoming on Thursday night.

The Rockets won by service scores of 25-15, 25-16 and 25-11 to improve to 7-6-2 on the season.

Madisyn Dykema paced Reeths-Puffer with 10 kills and three aces, while Sophia Hekkema added 10 kills and an ace. Alissa Klopp chipped in with four aces and Allison McManus contributed with three kills and an ace.

The Rockets were led defensively by McManus with four digs and Klopp who added five blocks. Hekkema had three digs.

Fruitport volleyball team struggles in a league contest against Coopersville

  It was not the best night for Fruitport on Thursday night as they fell to Coopersville in three sets with the scores being 16-25, 8-25, 13-25.

The Trojans were led on offense by Sadie Haase with 21 assists.

Gracelynn Olson added 18 assists and three kills while Tara sweet chipped in with 11 assists and four kills.

Fruitport was led defensively by Lauren Riedel and Raegan Dykstra with seven digs each.

The Trojans are now 9-12 on the season.

Holton wins both contest in a volleyball tri-match

The Red Devils had a good night on Thursday, defeating Manistee (25-14, 25-18, 15-3) and Newaygo (25-17, 25-6).

Abbie Fowler led Holton with five kills, 18 aces and 28 assists while Courtney Boes and June Newell each added 13 kills.

The Red Devils were led defensively by Fowler and Boes with 12 and seven digs, respectively.

Orchard View posts 0-3 record at Ravenna Quad match

The Cardinals lost to Ravenna, Fremont and Muskegon Catholic in two straight sets on Thursday night.

Elizabeth Estelle led the Cardinals with five kills on the night while Alexis Anderson and Hikari Katsuzawa each had five digs defensively. Alexis Anderson chipped in with six digs.

Spring Lake falls to Holland Christian in three straight sets in an O-K Blue Conference clash

The Lakers fell in three sets Thursday night to Holland Christian with scores of 19-25, 16-25, and 19-25.

Ella Gapczynski and Kalli Lewkowski led Spring Lake with 5 kills apiece.

Gapczynski added three aces while Brooke Bolthouse led the defense with 13 digs and Lewkowski added 12.

Rylee Sabo and Avery Britt both contributed with five assists for the Lakers.

Spring Lake fell to 12-6 overall and 0-3 in O-K Blue Conference play.

The Lakers will play at the Calvin Christian Invite on Saturday.

Oakridge struggles in a West Michigan Conference volleyball match with Shelby

It was a rough night for the Eagles volleyball squad, falling to Shelby in three sets with scores of 22-25, 23-25, and 14-25.

Madison Babinec led the Eagles offensively with seven kills while Kaelinn Jozsa added six. Gracie Willea chipped in with 15 assists.

The Oakridge back line defense led by Ahria Dornbos, Mallori Whipple and Haley Whipple combined for over 30 digs.

The Eagles are now 2-10 on the season and 0-2 in conference play.

WMC cruises to a three-set win over Muskegon Catholic on Wednesday

The Warriors won by service scores of 25-18, 25-17 and 25-10 over Muskegon Catholic on Wednesday night.

Abby Leffring led WMC with 20 kills, two aces and seven digs, while Ashley Folkema added 10 kills and seven digs.

The Warriors were paced defensively by Julissa Ter Haar with nine digs.
