The Kent City volleyball team continued its outstanding season with a 3-1 victory over Big Rapids on Thursday.

The Eagles won by set scores of 25-23, 21-25, 26-24, 25-22,

Maddie Geers pounded home six kills for Kent City and Jacee Hoffman had 21 assists.

Defensively, Geers totaled 22 digs and two blocks.

Kent City is now 13-4-1 overall and 5-0 in conference play.

Oakridge beats Tri County and Holton at the Holton Invitational

The Eagles defeated Tri-County in three sets, 25-16, 23-25,17-15.

Oakridge was led by Kaelinn Jozsa with seven kills and Madison Babinec with five. The Eagles served 17 aces in the match, with Haley Seewald leading the way with seven.

Gracie Willea had 16 assists.

Oakridge beat Holton 25-20, 27-25 in its second match.

Josza led the way with nine kills while Babinec and Willea added six and five, respectively.

Willea served five aces and dished out 16 assists.

Oakrige is now 5-10 on the season.

Holton posts a 1-1 record at its home invitational

The Red Devils won one and lost one at their own invitational tournament.

Holton rallied to beat Tri County 21-25 25-21 15-11, then lost in two sets to Oakridge 20-25, 24-26.

Courtney Boes provided the bulk of the power for Holton, pounding home 11 kills while serving six aces. Jasmine Pitre added seven kills and Ryann Robbins had six.

Abbie Fowler had 21 assists, served six aces and added three kills.

Defensively, Folwer had 23 digs and Katie Peterson added 20. Robbins totaled six blocks.

MCC downs Wellspring Prep in straight sets

Natalie Rich and Lindsay Ludd led the Crusaders with five and four kills, respectively.

Elaina LaGuire served 12 aces and Claire Lavigne had seven, while LaVigne also recorded 11 assists.

Defensively, LaGuire and Aubrey Shepherd each had four digs.

Muskegon Catholic is now 5-9 on the season. The Crusaders will host Lee on Tuesday at home.

Fremont downs Ravenna, falls to Shelby and Ludington

The Packers had a busy night and posted a 1-2 record.

They defeated Ravenna 27-25, 25-16 but lost to Shelby 21- 25, 25-18, 13-15 and Ludington 14-25, 20-25.

Sage Vandenberg led Fremont with 20 kills, Kendall Barnhart added 14 and Taylor Waite had 12. Carle Bruggema had 35 assists and five service aces.

Avery Christoffersen led the defense with 32 digs while Bruggema had three blocks.
