Thursday boys soccer roundup: Cade LaRose scores four goals to lead Grand Haven to a 4-1 win over Grandville

Cade LaRose had a four-goal performance that propelled the Buccaneers to a 4-1 win over Grandville on Thursday.

Andrew Raven, Eli Wachter and Jaxon Olsen each added assists for the Buccaneers.

Grand Haven moves to 7-0-3 on the season and takes on Jenison next Tuesday at home.

Muskegon struggles offensively in an O-K Green boys soccer contest

The Big Reds took on Wyoming Thursday night hoping for their first win of the season but failed to find the back of the net in an 8-0 league loss.

Muskegon is now 0-6 on the season and will travel to take on Fremont tomorrow at 4:30 p.m.

Orchard View offense goes quiet in a shutout loss to Wyoming Lee in boys soccer

The Cardinals looked to carry their strong defensive effort after a scoreless tie to Ravenna last night.

Orchard View however failed to score on Thursday, falling to Wyoming Lee by a 3-0 margin on Thursday in a non-league contest.

Wyoming Lee scored two goals in the first half at the 17:15 mark and 3:06 mark to take a 2-0 lead into halftime.

The final goal of the contest was scored with 2:16 remaining.

Freshman Santino Rivera led the Cardinals in net, stopping 14 of 17 shots faced.

Orchard View had six shots on goal and fell to 1-9-1 overall on the season.

The Cardinals will travel to take on Whitehall next Monday at 6:45 p.m.

Reeths-Puffer falls just short of comeback, loses to Zeeland West in league contest

The Rockets trailed by two goals early on and fought back before falling just short of victory to Zeeland West by a 3-2 margin on Thursday night.

Liam Smith scored his 15th goal of the season that was assisted by freshman Owen Ritsema.

Kyler Brainard scored the game-tying goal for the Rockets before Zeeland West scored the game-winner goal with 19 minutes remaining.

Sophomore goalie Gavin Wright had four saves on seven shots for Reeths-Puffer.

The Rockets, who will play Fruitport on Saturday, fell to 4-4-2 on the season and 2-2-1 in O-K Green Conference play.

Max Lasser nets two goals to lead North Muskegon over Fremont on Wednesday

The North Muskegon boys soccer team won a West Michigan Conference game over Fremont 4-1 on Wednesday night.

Max Lasser paced the Norse with two goals Brandon Winter and Dayllyn Ellis each added a single goal.

North Muskegon outshot the Packers by a 13-4 margin as Fremont’s Caleb Vissia stopped four shots in net while Ben Mellema had five saves.

The Norse improved to 4-7-2 on the season and 2-1-1 in league play while Fremont fell to 3-6-1 overall and 1-3 in conference competition.

Ludington boys soccer team blanks Manistee on Wednesday in a league contest

The Orioles cruised to a 4-0 win over Manistee on Wednesday to improve to 11-1-1 on the season and 5-0 in league play.

Ludington was led by Parker Wendt with two goals while Spencer Holmes and Ryan Millspaugh chipped in with an assist.

Connor Rudzki stopped two shots on net for the Orioles.

Fruitport struggles offensive on Wednesday in a 1-0 loss to GR West Catholic in boys soccer

The Trojans lost to visiting Grand Rapids West Catholic 1-0 on Wednesday night.

West Catholic scored off a free kick with three minutes left in the first half.

Fruitport’s goalkeeper Justin Laus stopped three shots on goal.
