Saturday volleyball roundup: Spring Lake and Kent City lead the way with strong days

The Spring Lake volleyball team went 3-0 over the weekend with victories over Holton, Pentwater and Montague at the Montague quad.
Kalli Lewkowski led the Lakers with 28 kills, 17 digs, 13 aces and four blocks on the day.
Anna Fumarolo also had a solid day with 19 kills and seven blocks.
With the victories, Spring Lake is now 20-7-3 overall.
Montague goes 2-1 at home quad
The Montague volleyball team picked up wins over Pentwater and Holton on Saturday but fell to Spring Lake.
Anastasia Trevino paced the Wildcats with 30 kills and seven blocks while Jaelyn Sundberg added 88 assists and 16 digs.
Alissa Wynn had a strong day as well with 22 digs and 20 aces.
Fruitport goes 1-3 at Byron Center
The Fruitport volleyball team traveled to Byron Center this weekend and defeated Grant but lost to Otsego, Lakewood and East Kentwood.
Sadie Haase led the Trojans with 31 kills, seven aces and four blocks while Gracelynn Olson totaled 46 assists, 16 kills and five aces.
Tara Sweet led Fruitport with 31 digs.
Kent City has strong day, wins Oakridge Invitational
Kent City had a great Saturday, defeating Orchard View, Godwin Heights, Sparta and tying Oakridge in pool play before defeating Godwin Heights and Oakridge in the semifinals and finals respectively.
Maddie Geers led the Eagles with 53 kills and 49 digs on the day while Lexie Bowers was impressive with 47 digs, 25 kills, nine aces and three blocks.
Kent City is now 18-4-2 overall on the season.
