The Mona Shores soccer team used a strong first half on Saturday to defeat West Ottawa 3-1.
Abe Freye scored off an assist from Kaden Pulaski to get the scoring started with 37:30 left in the first half.
After West Ottawa tied the game, Dan VanderPloeg netted a goal off an assist from Freye to give the Sailors a 2-1 lead.
The final goal of the game and first half came when Pulaski scored off an assist from Conner Foreman with just 53 seconds left in the first half.
Mona Shores outshot West Ottawa 12-3 on the day.
Mona Shores is now 11-1-2 overall on the season.
Ludington continues strong play, defeats Allendale 3-0
Spencer Holmes led the Orioles with two goals in a non-conference victory while Yebe Boerema had two assists.
Also scoring for Ludington was Parker Wendt while Connor Rudzki made 11 saves on the day.
Ludington is now 13-1-1 on the season.
