After going down last season with a broken collarbone, sophomore quarterback James Young was out to prove that his strong freshman season wasn’t a fluke.

He made his point on Thursday, competing 15 of 23 passes for 232 yards and five touchdowns in North Muskegon’s 55-0 victory over Orchard View in a West Michigan Conference crossover game.

North Muskegon had the lone score of the first quarter on a four-yard touchdown pass from Young to Carsen Moat and led 6-0.

The Norsemen opened the scoring in the second quarter with a 30-yard touchdown pass from Young to TJ Byard and a successful two-point run to go up 14-0.
