The Oakridge football team used an explosive fourth quarter to defeat Ludington 30-18 in a battle of previously undefeated teams on Friday night .

Oakridge got out to a solid start as Trever Jones found the endzone on a 30 yard run, and Matt Danicek found Evan Miller for a touchdown pass to make the score 14-0 after a defensive safety.

Ludington managed to claw back into the game on a second quarter Trey Forfinski one-yard run, which made the halftime score 14-6.

In the third quarter, a 44-yard Chase Hackert pass to Aiden Gilchrist narrowed the Oakridge lead to 14-12.

Oakridge answered in the fourth, with Miller and Jones both scoring on short TD runs to put the Eagles up 30-12.

The Orioles responded with another Hackert touchdown pass, this time to Levi Laman, but that was all the Orioles mustered.

Jones rushed for a total 228 yards and two touchdowns on the night to lead the Eagle attack.

Despite the loss, Hackert threw for 188 yards and two touchdowns.

Oakridge improves to 4-0 overall and 2-0 in the West Michigan Conference Lakes Division, while Ludington falls to 3-1 overall and 1-1 in conference.
