In a grind between both teams, a dominant second half was the difference as the Muskegon Catholic Central football team edged out Schoolcraft 16-12 on Friday night.
The Crusaders took an early lead off of a first quarter field goal, before Schoolcraft answered with two second quarter touchdowns to make the deficit 12-3 at half for Muskegon Catholic.
Muskegon Catholic Central turned it around after halftime, scoring on a 33 yard Bode Zygmuntowski pass to Braden Gustin to cut the deficit to 12-10 entering the fourth quarter.
A Bryan Covertini pass to David Hill gave the Crusaders a 16-12 lead in the fourth which they were ultimately able to maintain for the victory.
Leading the Crusaders offense was Covertini, rushing for 79 yards on 21 attempts and passing for 53 yards and a touchdown on nine attempts.
David Hill led the team in rushing with 87 yards on 11 attempts, and also brought in a receiving touchdown.
Quinn McKenna led the Crusaders effort on defense, posting a team-high five tackles as well as two sacks. Hill and Sam Kartes also contributed with four tackles apiece.
The Crusaders improve to 4-2 overall and will next travel to play Muskegon Heights next week.
