Bryan Convertini has a big night, helps Muskegon Catholic down Orchard View 34-12

The Muskegon Catholic football team defeated Orchard View 34-12 on Friday night to improve to 3-2 overall.

David Hill started the scoring for the Crusaders with a 10-yard touchdown run with 8:15 left in the first quarter, making the score 7-0. Bryan Convertini then scored on a 30-yard run to give the Crusaders a 14-0 lead after one quarter of play.

Convertini had the lone touchdown of the second quarter when he broke loose for a 33-yard touchdown run, giving Muskegon Catholic a 21-0 halftime lead.

Stephen Oakes scored the first touchdown of the night for the Cardinals to cut the deficit to 21-6 with a one-yard run.

Convertini finished his night with a 5-yard TD run in the third quarter and a 2-yard score in the fourth quarter, extending the Crusader lead to 34-6.

Orchard View scored the final touchdown of the night when Mason Tuttle found the end zone on a 6-yard run.

Convertini finished with 117 yards and four touchdowns on 14 carries while Hill had 58 yards and one score on nine carries.

Sam Kartes led the Crusader defense with 10.5 tackles on the night including one sack.

Orchard View is now 0-5 and will next host Fremont, while Muskegon Catholic will host Schoolcraft next week.
