Tuesday volleyball roundup: Reeths-Puffer goes 2-1 at home with victories over Ravenna, Ludington

The Reeths-Puffer volleyball team played well on its home court on Tuesday, posting a 2-1 record.

The Rockets downed Ravenna 25-3, 25-23 and Ludington 25-18, 25-23, before closing out the night with a loss to Fruitport 25-19, 25-9.

Madisyn Dykema led Reeths-Puffer with 20 kills while Billie Tryska had 15. Emme Buzzell served up five aces.

Defensively Tryska had three blocks.

Montague beats Zeeland East, falls to WMC, Spring Lake

The Wildcats beat Zeeland East 25-21, 27-25, then fell to Western Michigan Christian 25-15, 25-23 and Spring Lake 25-21, 21-25, 15-13.

Anastasia Trevino and Britta Johnson had 20 and 17 kills, respectively, for Montague. Jaelyn Sundberg had 57 assists and Jaci Arrigoski served five aces.

Alissa Wynn totaled 20 digs for the Wildcats.

Fremont loses three matches at Mona Shores

The Packers fell to Mona Shores, Jenison and Whitehall on Tuesday.

Marcy Tanner led Fremont with 11 kills while Kendall Barnhart had nine. Carle Bruggema had 24 assists.

Defensively, Mia Clemence turned in three blocks while Bruggema had 16 digs

Muskegon Catholic falls to Black River and Holton

The Crusader volleyball team lost two matches at home against Black River and Holton.

Black River rallied to beat MCC 18-25, 25-23, 17-5. Holton beat the Crusaders 25-13, 19-25, 15-8.

Leaders for MCC were Clare LaVigne with eight kills and Lindsey Ladd with seven. LaVigne also had 22 assists while Natalie Rich served six aces.

Defensively, LaVigne had 12 digs, Elaina LaGuire added 10 and Rich had eight. Ladd chipped in with two blocks.

MCC is now 2-5 on the season.

Warriors go 1-2 in three matches on Tuesday

Western Michigan Christian lost its opening match to Zeeland East 25-15, 25-21, won its second against Montague 25-15, 25-23 and lost the last one to Spring Lake 25-18, 25-23,

Abby Leffring and Ashley Folkema had 15 and 13 kills, respectively, for the Warriors. Kendal Young totaled 42 assists.

Defensively, Leffring and Folkema had 22 digs apiece
