The Spring Lake volleyball team got off to a great start to the season on Wednesday by beating Hesperia and Kent City.

The Lakers downed Hesperia in straight sets, 25-22, 25-23, then took three sets to down Kent City, dropping the first 23-25, then taking the last two, 25-21 and 15-10.

Spring Lake was led by Kalli Lewkowski with 22 kills, 10 digs and two blocks.  Anna Fumarolo added 10 kills and three blocks. Ella Andree had three aces from the service line, along with 13 digs and six kills.

Brooke Bolthouse kept the defense alive with 34 digs while Rylee Sabo had 20 assists and Ella Gapczynski had six blocks.
