The Shelby football team got off to a good start on Friday, jumping out to a 12-0 lead, but in the end the Tigers couldn’t stop White Cloud’s rushing attack and fell 40-20 in their season opener.
Shelby was led by Travis Boughan, who completed 12 of 24 passes for 156 yards and one touchdown. Boughan added two rushing touchdowns as well.
Bishop Lee added 72 yards on the ground with one touchdown for the Tigers.
Boughan led Shelby on defense with 12 tackles.
Shelby will take on Ludington at home next Thursday at 7 pm.
