The Hesperia football team, under the direction of new head coach Tyler Fehler, put up a lot of points in its opening game on Friday night, but came up a little bit short in a 37-34 loss to Manton.

Hesperia was led on offense by quarterback Alex Gleason. who went 11 for 26 passing for 124 yards and two touchdowns along with 78 yards rushing yards on 10 attempts.

Skyler Stalbaum added 63 yards on 12 rushes for the Panthers. Brock Bolles added 67 yards receiving on six receptions and one touchdown. Maverick McKinnon added 31 years on two receptions along with one touchdown.

On defense, the Panthers were led by Bolles with 10 tackles, McKinnon with nine, Noah Walker with eight and Marcus Hoaglin with seven.

Hesperia will take on St. Louis next Friday at home at 7 p.m.
