Arturo Romero continued his season-opening scoring binge by netting four goals on Thursday as Oakridge downed Muskegon 7-0 in non-conference action.

Logan Hunt added two goals for the Eagles while Zach Maitner scored once.

Brayden Mahnke, Isaac Willard and Vance Cershiori each had two assists and Michael Thompson added one. Keegan Williamson had three saves for his second shutout of the season.

Oakridge, now 4-1-1, will host Muskegon Catholic on Friday night.

Fruitport pours it on in an 8-0 victory over Whitehall

The Fruitport soccer team had a big day offensively on Thursday, downing Whitehall 8-0 in a non-conference matchup.

Bode Anspach led the scoring barrage with a pair of goals. Other tallies came from Brayton Marshall, Caleb Slager, Jackson Rebone, Taylen Acocks and Jorge Burgos-Yack.

Isaac Vandermolen had two assists for Fruitport while Ryan Mitchell, Elliot Effken, Jaxon Stone, and Austin Hanis each had one.

Goalie Justin Laus got the shutout with three saves.

Nate Wagner scored three goals, Parker Wendt and Spencer Holmes each had two and Connor Wendt had one for the Orioles.

Steven Stidham played a big role with three assists while Parker Wendt and Holmes each had one.
