The Ravenna softball team wrapped up a great season on Saturday by beating Saranac in the first round of regionals before falling to Calvin Christian 1-0 in a heartbreaker in the finals.
Emma Gillard picked up the win for the Bulldogs in the first game, allowing two runs on five hits with 10 strikeouts and only one walk. She also had a pair of triples at the plate.
Maddie Kilbourne also had two hits for Ravenna.
The Bulldogs came up short against Calvin Christian. Emma Gillard and Addison Gillard combined to throw a six-hitter and only allowed a run, but the Bulldogs could not get a run across the plate.
Kilbourne, Emma Herremans and Kara Postema each had hits in the finals for Ravenna.
The Bulldogs finished the season with a 30-9 record and a district championship.
