The Fruitport baseball team fell 7-0 to Bay City John Glenn on Saturday in the Division 2 regional finals.

Cody Matuz started on the mound for Fruitport and struck out nine, but the Trojans could not get their bats going.

Mayson Whitlow had the only hit for Fruitport.

The Trojans finished the season with a 21-16 record and a Division 4 district championship.

Coach Nick Reed credited the team’s seniors for their performance and leadership.

“Our seniors have really changed the trajectory of our program,” Reed said. “They have played an integral part in changing the culture and leaving the program a better place than when they got it. We will miss this class. This team was truly a close-knit family.”
