The Muskegon Clippers’ two-game winning streak came to an end with a tough 9-3 loss to the Sandusky Ice Haulers on Tuesday night in Ohio.

Things started out promising for the Clippers when Spencer Nelson hit a three-run homer, putting Muskegon up 3-0. But Sandusky answered with one run in the third inning, then eight runs in the fourth, to take control of the contest.

The Clippers only managed two hits on the night and also committed three errors.

Starting pitcher Will Goebel took the loss for the Clippers.

Muskegon, now 3-4 on the season, will play Games 2 and 3 of the series in Sandusky on Wednesday and Thursday, then will return home for a three-game weekend series on Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights against the Michigan Monarchs at Marsh Field.
