The Muskegon Clippers lost their second straight game, falling to the Sandusky Ice Haulers 7-6 on Tuesday in the second game of a three-game series.

The Ice Haulers scored the game-winning run in the eighth inning on an RBI double by Josh Kross.

The Clippers are now 3-5 on the season, good for a tie for fifth place in the Great Lakes Summer Collegiate Baseball League’s Northern Division.

Muskegon will look to salvage a victory on Thursday night in the series finale to avoid the sweep.

The Clippers jumped out t0 a 2-0 lead in the first inning before Sandusky tied the game 2-2, scoring a run in the second and third inning.

Muskegon scored three in the fourth inning to take a 5-2 lead, but quickly lost the advantage by giving up four runs in the fourth to give the Ice Haulers a 6-5 lead.

The Clippers tied the game with a run in the seventh before Sandusky won the game with a tally in the eighth frame.

Sebastian Jones suffered the loss on the mound for the Clippers, giving up the game-winning run, while starting pitcher Mason Hill took a no-decision, tossing four innings while giving up six runs on five hits while striking out four batters.

Stoney Smith, Spencer Nelson, Q Phillips and Cooper Mills each led the Clippers with two hits apiece. Nelson had a double, home run and two RBIs, while Smith doubled and tripled in the contest.

Jacob Anderson also hit a triple in the game for Muskegon.
