The Hart baseball squad cruised to a pair of wins in a doubleheader on Friday.

The Pirates won the opener over Hesperia 9-1, then won the second contest by a 9-3 margin.

Ty Schlukebir pitched a complete game for Hart, allowing two hits while striking out 10 batters.

Blake Weirich, Kory Charron and Kody Charron each knocked in a run in the first inning for the Pirates.

Hart added another run in the fourth inning with an RBI double from Kyan Clark.

The Pirates added another five runs in the fourth inning on RBI singles from Logan Purdy and Clark, while Kody Charron had a two-run double.

Kory Charron picked up the win from the mound in Game 2, going five strong innings. He also led the offense with three hits, while Clark Weirich and Kody Charron each added two.

Whitehall defeats Kalkaska and Ludington over the weekend

The Vikings blanked Kalkaska 8-0 in the opener, then cruised to a 9-2 win over Ludington in the night cap.

Kyle Stratton, Ryne Christensen, Ryan Goodrich and Maddox Varela each had two hits against Kalkaska. Goodrich knocked in three runs while Christensen had two RBIs.

Christensen also tossed a no-hitter in Game 1, striking out seven batters.

Landon Howe had three hits for the Vikings against Ludington while Christensen and Varela each had two. Isaac VanAmberg had three RBIs.

Stratton tossed the win against the Orioles, allowing two runs on five hits in 6 1/3 innings while striking out seven.
