Wednesday girls soccer district roundup: Eden, Morey both score three goals in Ravenna’s 6-3 win over Lakeview

Kaylyn Eden and Frances Morey each record a hat trick on Tuesday as the Ravenna girls soccer team downed Lakeview 6-3 in the first round of Division 3 districts.

In addition to her hat trick, Eden added an assist to her totals. Marissa Calderon, Zoe Marsman and Nadia Luce also recorded single assists.

Sidney Marsman made 18 saves in goal for the Bulldogs, who will now play North Muskegon next Wednesday in the semifinals.

GRAND HAVEN 8, WYOMING 0 – Grand Haven scored five first half goals en route to the Division 1 quarterfinal victory.

Heidi Berkey, Camille Berko, and Lannie Fox each recorded a goal and an assist. Rosalee Springer, Sophie Doty, Hadassah Traub, Gillian Sorrelle, and Margo Frendt each scored a goal while Kate Klahorst added her name to the score sheet with an assist.

The Bucs will play the winner of Mona Shores-Forest Hills Northern game next Wednesday.

OAKRIDGE 2, GRANT 0 – Saidee Raap scored a pair of second half goals to send Oakridge into the district semifinals.

Kate Utzinger and Bri Benson each recorded an assist for Oakridge while Izzy Glassford made 16 saves in goal to earn the clean sheet.

The Eagles will play the winner of Thursday’s matchup between Manistee and Newaygo on June 1.

LUDINGTON 1, FRUITPORT 0 – Maddy Billings scored the lone goal of the game for Ludington, with an assist from Maddie Gasaway.

Goalie Anyssa Castanada posted the shutout for the Orioles with 10 saves.

Ludington, now 13-7-1, will play Whitehall in the district semifinals next Tuesday.

COOPERSVILLE 5, GODWIN HEIGHTS 0 – Sydney Greer scored twice in the first half for Coopersville while Addison Vogel added a goal before halftime, giving the Broncos a 3-0 lead at the break.

Sylvia Sanford and Sydney Dunneback scored second-half goals for Coopersville. Sanford had two assists while Brooklyn Michalak had one.

Coopersville advances to the district semifinals and will play the winner of the East Grand Rapids-Ottawa Hills game on Tuesday.

SHELBY 2, HART 1 – Cristelia Rangel scored the lone goal for Hart.

Shelby moves on to play Orchard View next Wednesday in the semifinals. [1]
