Ravenna’s Emma Gillard tossed a perfect game in a conference win over Shelby on Tuesday night.
Gillard struck out eight batters without allowing a single baserunner, leading the Bulldogs to a 10-0 win.
Addison Gillard led at the plate, going a perfect 4-4 with a double. Emma Herremans went 2-3 with two doubles, while Maddie Kilbourne, Kara Postema, Liberty Willick, and Kendra Denhof all added hits.
Emma Gillard picked up another pitching win in Game 2, a 17-6 win for Ravenna. She struck out four in 4 ⅓ innings. The Bulldog bats remained hot in Game 2, with Herremans going a perfect 3-3 with a double and Postema going 3-4 with a triple. Addison Gillard, Kilbourne, Emma Gillard, Denhof, Ellie Solem, Alexis McMahon and Izzy Deal all had hits for the Bulldogs.
Ravenna improves to 21-2 on the season and 10-2 in the West Michigan Conference.
Mona Shores sweeps Muskegon
The Sailors took a pair of wins against OK Green foe Muskegon Tuesday night, winning by scores of 15-0 and 13-2.
Avery Johnson, Kristen Hylland and Elizabeth Savacool each had two hits in Game 1. Hylland got the pitching win, throwing a three-inning complete game with five strikeouts.
The Sailors racked up a total of 12 hits in Game 2. Maggie McCarthy led the way with four hits, while Savacool and Abbie Critchett had two each. Mia Geoghan got the win and struck out three. Hylland had four punchouts in relief.
Rockets take two from Holland
The Reeths-Puffer softball team swept Holland in OK Green doubleheader action Tuesday night, winning Game 1 3-2 and Game 2 15-0.
Caitylnn Duffey pitched a gem in the opener, retiring 18 batters by strikeout and allowing only three hits. Reeths-Puffer notched just two hits, one each by Paige Primmer and Megan Barmes, but drew three walks and were hit by pitch three times to get the edge over the Dutchmen.
The bats heated up for the Rockets in the second game, as Primmer and Barmes both had a single, with Barmes and Kaylee Jones both recording two RBIs. Mady Snyder pitched the nightcap and allowed just three hits with five strikeouts.
