The North Muskegon softball squad won both of their games in a doubleheader on Friday against Hesperia in non-league action.

The Norse cruised to an 11-1 win in the opener, then blanked the Panthers 9-0 to complete the two-game sweep.

North Muskegon jumped out to an 8-0 lead in the first inning of Game 1.

Madison Balon pitched the victory in the opener, allowing one run on one hit in six innings while striking out eight batters.

Maddie Houseman led the Norse offensively, going 3-for-3 at the plate. North Muskegon also did not commit an error throughout the entire first game.

Balon was even stronger from the mound in Game 2, tossing a no-hitter while striking out 11 hitters.

Houseman was once again solid from the plate, knocking in four runs on three hits. She had two home runs and a double in the nightcap.

The Norse collected 11 hits as a team in Game 2, led by Baila Lang, Houseman and Lucy Fricke, who each had a multiple hit game.
